Swan College

Swan College are proud to be named after Sunderland born Joseph Swan inventor of the electric light bulb in the nineteenth century. Swan was an excellent scientist whose hard work and creative spirit stands as a role model for all in Swan College.

Members of Swan College wear a royal blue tie. Not only is this the colour of royalty, the ancient Egyptians also believed it to be the colour of truth and honesty.

Standing by these principles of hard work, creativity, respect and honesty – you could become a Swan ‘bright spark’!

South Shields Community School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
