All students, on entering Year 7 at South Shield Community School will be allocated a Tutor Group which they will remain in for the first year. The Year 7 team consists of:-

•    Miss Tones and Mrs Bell
•    Mrs Frame
•    Mr Etchells and Miss Huck
•    Miss Parkin and Mrs Whalen-Griffiths
•    Miss Ritson and Miss Patterson

Year 7 students will follow a specific programme during tutorial which assists in the transition from Primary to Secondary School. Students meet with their tutors every morning for 20minutes.The programme is as follows:-

Monday       – Assembly
Tuesday      – Reflective Diaries
Wednesday  – Quiet Reading
Thursday     – Awareness of Current Affairs
Friday          – Traditional Board Games / Tutor Choice

The Year 7 team pride themselves in running a successful year group and encourage each student to ‘be successful and happy’ in all that they do, being respectful in the process.

Year 7 support the ‘Alzheimer’s Society’ and fundraise throughout the year for this charity.
