Hello and welcome to the Business and Enterprise department’s home page.

The aim of the business department is to develop a range of employability skills. We offer 3 different business courses providing choice for the learner. Business continues to be a popular choice.  Learners are encouraged to think and act like business men and women and actively participate in a variety of situations designed to enable them to make decisions based upon their knowledge and understanding of the subject.

Business, Administration and Finance Diploma
We are delighted to be the first school in south Tyneside to offer a Diploma course in Business, Administration and Finance. You will study 9 units over two years, have at least 10 days of work experience and develop functional and personal, learning and thinking skills. You will also produce a project of your choice. You will achieve 7 GCSE’s!

BTEC Business
BTEC learner’s you will study 3 units in total and will investigate apply and evaluate business practices. This will give you 2 GCSE’s. You will study Unit 1 Investigating Business Purposes, Unit 3 Investigating Financial. This course is 100% coursework.

Business and Communication systems
In this GCSE course learners learn about information systems used in business. The aspects covered include; Communication systems, Data gathering, recording and presentation systems, Money transfer systems and Constraints and influences on systems. The final grade is made up of the exam and coursework marks achieved.

Enterprise
Enterprise skills such as communication, problem solving, numeracy, team-working and leadership will help you to be successful at school and in your future careers.

Homework guide – for parents/carers
Please encourage your son/daughter to complete the home works posted on this site. Home work is aimed at contributing to and reinforcing the learning in the classroom. It is important the tasks are completed and brought to the relevant lesson, deadline dates will be given by individual teachers.
