Alternative provision can take various forms including entry into New Horizons, involvement in specific co-curriculum projects, taking college courses through our South Tyneside College vertical partnership as well as work placements.
All alternative provision involves discussions with parents and carers and often other outside agencies and is reviewed regularly to ensure students are making excellent progress as well as to refine provision.
Should parents or carers require any information about alternative provision please contact Mr Zaheer, Associate Headteacher.
Gifted and Talented
We recognise that our more academically able students will need extra intervention to ensure they remain stretched and challenged at all times.
We frequently evaluate our curriculum provision and the opportunities to develop specific skills and attributes within and we are acutely aware that we must provide an engaging learning experience for all. We collaborate with organisations that provide further opportunities beyond South Shields School such as being involved in the Brilliant Club, Mock Trials, Debating club and enrichment activities to stretch and challenge.
